Got Questions? I’ve Got Answers!
Quick, clear info to help you feel confident every step of the way — no guesswork, just straight-up answers.
When can I start learning to drive?
You can apply for your provisional licence when you're 15 years and 9 months old, but you need to be 17 to start driving a car on the road.

How many driving lessons will I need before taking the test?

It really depends on you, but most learners take around 45 hours of lessons with an instructor and around 20+ hours of private practice to feel test-ready.

Do I need to pass my theory test before starting lessons?
Nope! You can start lessons as soon as you’ve got your provisional licence. But you’ll need to pass the theory test before booking your practical test.

What's the best way to prepare for the theory test?
Use the official DVSA app, revise the Highway Code, and practice hazard perception clips. Little and often is the key!
Can I practise driving with a friend or family member?
Yes – as long as they’re over 21, have had a full UK licence for 3+ years, and the car is insured for you. Don’t forget your L plates!
How much does learning to drive cost?
It varies, but in total (including lessons, tests, licence, etc.), most learners spend around £1,500 to £2,000.
How do I book my theory and practical tests?
You can book both online through the GOV.UK website. Just make sure you’ve passed your theory before booking your practical.
What are the 'Show Me, Tell Me' questions?
These are two simple vehicle safety questions during your driving test—one before you start, one while driving. Super helpful for everyday car knowledge!
Do you offer block bookings or discounts?
Yes! I offer discounted rates for block bookings. Just ask for the latest offers and I’ll send you the info.
Can I message you with questions between lessons?
Absolutely! If you’re ever unsure about anything, want tips, or just have a quick question—send me a message! I’ve got you.
How do I know if I'm ready to take my driving test?
If you’re driving confidently and safely without much help from me—you’re probably ready! Before we book your test, you'll need to pass a couple of mock tests so we can make sure you're fully prepared for the real thing. I’ll always be honest and guide you when the time’s right. You've got this!

What happens if I fail my driving test?
It’s okay, it happens! You’ll need to wait 10 working days before retaking it. We’ll go over what went wrong and work on it together.
